The Town of Cambria offers Summer Day Recreation and Baseball Programs for the youth of our community ages 5 years through 16 years old. We encourage older youth (16-21 years of age) to get involved with community recreation by volunteering or applying for positions as Recreation Leaders, Recreation Assistants, Assistant Coaches and Umpires. We also accept volunteers for community service requirements to help get our programs up and running.

BASEBALL2019 Baseball Application / Health Form

The Cambria Baseball Program is currently made up of 8 recreational leagues with an emphasis on SPORTSMANSHIP, as our main goal. There are no tryouts for any of the Cambria Leagues. All participants are welcome regardless of their physical or athletic abilities. Everyone plays every game. There is a registration fee for both town and non-town residents which will be announced each year. Registration is usually in February and March. Information flyers are provided through local school, newspapers, Town Newsletter (when possible) and the Town Clerk’s Office.

T-Ball - This program is open to boys and girls ages 4-5 years old. The T-Ball Program is designed to teach the participants how to work together as a team. The T-Ball program starts mid to late May and runs thru July. T-Ball is played Saturday at 9am.

Midget League - The Midget League is a coed league for girls and boys ages 6-7. This program is a coach-pitched modified little league program. It is played on a 50-foot diamond and is designed to teach baseball/softball basics, safety, teamwork and sportsmanship. The Midget League plays on Saturday mornings at 11 am. The season opens mid to late May and runs thru July.

Minor League - The Minor League is for boys ages 8-10. However, it is not restricted to boys. Several girls have participated in this program. It is a player-pitched little league program that is played on a 60-foot diamond . The program is designed to teach baseball/ softball basics, safety, teamwork and sportsmanship. The Minor League plays on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The season opens mid to late May and runs through July.

Major League - The Cambria Major League is a recreational baseball league for boys 10-12 years of age. However, it is not restricted to boys only. We have had several girls participate in this program. While this is a recreational league, there is friendly sportsman-like competition. There are no try-outs for this league and everyone plays each game. This program is designed to refine the participants’ skills in preparation for more competitive leagues, such as Babe Ruth, Midget A & B and High School Teams. Safety and sportsmanship is number one in this league. The participants play Monday & Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The season starts mid to late May and runs thru July.

Babe Ruth - The Babe Ruth league is for boys ages 13-15 years old. It is a more competitive traveling league for boys. This league plays on Monday and Wednesday at 6:00 PM and the season starts mid to late June and runs through mid August.

Softball (9-11)- Girls Softball is for girls ages 9-11 years old. As in the boys’ league, this league is not restricted to girls only. Girls Softball is a recreational league designed to teach safety, sportsmanship and team effort. This league refines the program participants’ skills, knowledge and understanding of the game and team play. Softball games are scheduled at 6:00 PM on Tuesday and Thursday. The season starts mid to late May and continues through play-offs and championship games early to mid July.

Softball (12-14)- Girls Softball is for girls ages 12-14 years old. Girls Softball is a recreational league designed to teach safety, sportsmanship and team effort. This league refines the program participants’ skills, knowledge and understanding of the game and team play. Softball games are scheduled at 6:00 PM on Tuesday and Thursday. The season starts mid to late May and continues through play-offs and championship games early to mid July.

Pony Tail (15-17)- The Pony Tail League is a traveling recreational league, however, is more competitive and is designed to refine the participant’s skills in preparation for more competitive leagues such as High School Softball. The games are scheduled for 6:00 PM Monday and Wednesday.

Soccer Shots is a program offered to children 2-8 that meets once a week at daycare centers, schools, and parks throughout WNY to introduce your child to soccer! Our Soccer Shots instructors are energetic and enthusiastic, are great teachers, and love working with children. We not only teach soccer skills, but also work on improving balance, coordination, and agility with the kids. RECREATION DAY PROGRAM REGISTRATIONS

The Town of Cambria Summer Day Recreation Program is a 6-week safe, fun-filled program of age appropriate activities for the community’s youth age 5-15 years old. Located at the Cambria Town Hall/Community Building, 4160 Upper Mountain Road, the program runs from Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 3:30 pm sharp. Please note that children must be five (5) years old June 1st.

Due to the high demand of our program and last year’s high registration numbers,
only 150 spots are available and residents will have first priority to register.
We will be using the following format for registering for the
2019 Day Recreation Program:

ACCEPTING RESIDENTS ONLY UNTIL MAY 31, 2019

After May 31, 2019,  registration will be open to both residents of the Town of Cambria and non-residents and will be accepted on a “first come first served”  basis.  This will be until the program is filled or until June 20,2019, whichever comes first. The last day to register will be Thursday, June 20, 2019 by the close of business – whichever comes first. ~NO EXCEPTIONS~

NON-RESIDENTS: Must submit registrations in person only during regular business hours.
Registrations submitted prior to June 3, 2019 will be returned and/or rejected. ~ NO EXCEPTIONS~

**Registration paperwork can be obtained from the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours;
it will not be available online**

To secure your child’s spot, completed registrations (ALL 6 PAGES MUST BE SUBMITTED) and current immunization records must be attached, along with a photo and payment in the form of cash, check, money order or credit card to the  Clerk’s Office.
(Returned checks will result in loss of spot on the list.). Registrations will not be accepted once the program has begun.

Registration forms & all health forms will be rejected and/or returned if they are not complete.
~ NO EXCEPTIONS ~

**PLEASE NOTE**

 The Town of Cambria Recreation Day Program recognizes that children with a peanut/tree nut allergy may register for this program. We strongly encourage all participants to refrain from bringing peanut/tree nut food items to eat. However, we cannot control all environmental factors or all the food coming in to the program; please take this into consideration prior to registering your child in this program. We will make every effort to insure a peanut/tree nut free area is available for your child to eat.

TO PAY BY CREDIT CARD

Registrations may be paid by credit card IN PERSON at the Town Clerk’s Office during regular business hours; there is a 2.45% convenience fee that will be assessed for the use of this service by VPS, the credit card company.

From April 1- July 3, 2019 (from 8:30am-3:30pm) you may pay for your child(ren)’s field trips by credit card as a lump sum payment. There will be a form at the Town Clerk’s Office to fill out and make this payment. HOWEVER, there will not be any refunds given if your child does not attend the field trip Nor will the monies be put towards another field trip. One child per form, and the field trip permission slips must be filled out and attached at time of payment.
